Day 4

Scripture to Read: Genesis 1:4-31

As we saw yesterday, there was no death in this world before Adam’s sin. Many struggle with the fact that dinosaurs and man lived at the same time. But when we examine God’s Word, we can see that there would have been no problem with dinosaurs and man existing at the same time. We will unpack this truth as we continue to examine God’s original creation. We can see that God populated the heavens and the earth in the last three days of creation. In each day of God’s creation, we find this, or something close to this written: And God saw that it was good. The first place we see this is in Genesis 1:4, And God saw that the light was good. So, God called the light He created “good.” Then we read in Genesis 1:10, 12, 18, 21, and 25, And God saw that it was good. Then finally, we read in Genesis 1:31, And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. Why is this so important? Because in God’s original creation, there was ZERO wrong, evil, or corrupt. In other words, there was ZERO sin in any of God’s creation! When God said His creation was “good,” all God had to compare His creation to was Himself. We know God is perfect, holy, complete, lacking in nothing. So, when God said His creation was “very good” in Genesis 1:31, He was confirming that His creation was perfect in every way. Again, no death and no sin. Let that truth take root in you.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today about how “good” His creation was in the beginning? 2. How does what you learned today change anything about what you formerly believed about God’s original creation?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

We begin this new series in the book of Genesis. The word “genesis” means “origin” or “beginning.” We know that God used Moses to write Genesis and the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. Genesis was first written to the people of Israel. It is important for us to understand why Israel would need all of this information that...

Day 2

In the beginning, the earth had no shape and there was nothing but darkness. We read in Genesis 1:2, The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Incredibly, in the middle of absolute darkness, God created light and the light shone brightly, cu...

Day 3

We know, or we should know, that creation had a precise order and structure. The idea that creation came to exist merely by random events is simply not logical. The first three days of creation were foundational for sustaining everything that would be created the last three days. As we saw yesterday, on Day 1 God created light. We do not know...

Day 5

As we began to look yesterday at how “good” God’s original creation was, it is easy to see that man and animal lived in perfect harmony for a while. God created a holy foundation reflecting His own nature. As we know, God ALONE is Good and Holy. God declares His holiness throughout His Word and 1 John 1:5 is a great example, for God’s Word sa...

Day 6

So, from what God taught us yesterday, we know that dinosaurs and all other animals, including man, were created as herbivores in God’s original creation. Nothing in God’s original creation ate meat. Also, we know from reading Genesis that man and animals alike lived a long time. Sin definitely brought death to this world, but the effects of ...

Day 7

One other phrase God used in His “Creation Account” is the phrase, …each according to its kind” or “…according to their kinds.” We find this phrase used in Genesis 1:11, 12, 21, 24, and 25. Why is this so important? Because God wanted us to know that all of the creatures He created were made in the likeness of “its own kind.” But, when it com...
