Day 7

Scripture to Read: 2 Thessalonians 1:5

As we close this week we are still focused on the tests, trials, and tribulations we face as Christians. We do not like to talk about suffering, trials, and persecution in this life, but God Almighty speaks of it quite often in His Word. As we have already seen this week, we are not to be surprised (1 Peter 4:12-16) when we face persecution and suffering, but we are to glorify God in the way we walk through our trials. God tells us in Romans 8:16-17 “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.” God lets us know that the suffering will happen, but that we also will be glorified with our Lord. The incredible peace we have in our suffering is knowing that God, through Christ, is our Comforter and Peace, and therefore we can also comfort one another. God says it this way in 2 Corinthians 1:4-5 “who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.” Though suffering is hard, we know that

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today about suffering and comfort? 2. Who will you comfort this week who is walking through a time of suffering?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

These three me...

Our words have an incredible influence on others. We can build others up with our words, or we can tear others down with our words. Day 5

We do not like to think about persecution as something we would like to go through, but amid God’s plan, He uses persecution to count us worthy of His kingdom. Day 6

When we consider that persecution and suffering are a part of the Christian life, this is difficult for us to comprehend at times. But our Lord Jesus Christ promised persecution and suffering in this world in John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I...
