Scripture to Read: 2 Thessalonians 1:4
We are continuing in verse 4 today as we consider enduring in our walk with Christ. There are times in each of our lives when we perceive that certain Christians seem to have it all together in their walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. What we often miss or have no clue of in these Christian’s lives are the battles they have walked through to be able to stand firm where they are now. As the believers in Thessalonica were walking through persecution, day after day, because of their faith in Christ, they chose to endure. This endurance comes from our Lord and the only way this endurance can be tested is through the tests, trials, and tribulations we face in this life. If we never go through the tests, trials, and tribulations in life, then our faith is going to remain immature and weak. God has given us Himself, through His Holy Spirit, so that we have everything we need to persevere each day no matter what this life may throw at us. God tells us in 2 Peter 1:3-8 that it is through His divine power that He has given us all we need for living a godly life. He gave us His divine power when we surrendered to Christ as Lord and King. Because God has given us Himself, we must choose to respond by walking in obedience to Him and His Word. If we decide not to obey, we will suffer the consequences of our disobedience. The choice is ours; we must decide daily what that choice will be.
