Day 4

Scripture to Read: 1 Peter 1:20-21

This week we have seen that true hope is only found through a relationship with God the Father. We also know that the only way to have that relationship with God the Father is through believing in (trusting in, clinging to, relying on) our Lord Jesus Christ. God the Father set forth His plan of redemption before anyone was even born (Ephesians 1:3-5). Also, our Lord Jesus Christ has ALWAYS been in an eternal relationship with God the Father because Jesus is the second member of the Trinity (Ephesians 2:18-22). The incredible blessing from God is that He has revealed all of these things to us in His Holy Word and the Incarnate Word, in the life, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of Christ. These things have been revealed for our sake, too, as believers in God. Why was Christ revealed in these last times? So that through Christ, we have put our trust in God. Every believer has placed our faith and hope in God because He, through His Spirit, raised Christ from the dead and gave Christ all of the glory (1 Peter 1:21). The reason Christ has been revealed is so that everyone with breath would believe in Him as Lord and Savior. The beauty is that all believers know that Jesus has been raised from the dead and that our faith and living hope are in Him alone. What people trust in, by faith, reveals where their hope is found. Real hope is found in only One Person and His name is Jesus.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you through 1 Peter 1:20-21 about His plans and purposes? 2. Who will you share the hope of God with as you pray John 16:8-11 and thank our Lord for His work in their life?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

Last week, the Lord taught us to rejoice while suffering because Christ is our living hope. In today's devotion, our Lord shows us how we are to prepare for the spiritual battles we face each day, always remembering our hope is in Christ. Day 2

God has told us to keep our hope fixed on the grace we have in Christ. Today, God starts by calling us obedient children, which means He expects our obedience to Him every day. So, walking in obedience to our Lord means we must not walk in the patterns of this world. God tells us in 1 Peter 1:14, "do not be conformed to the passions of your f...

Yesterday, we saw how God expects us, as His children, to walk in obedience to Him and to live holy lives. 1 Peter 1:17-19 God continues showing us who we are in Him, "And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, knowing that you were ran...

Day 5

In today's devotion, we're going to see how the work that Jesus has done should produce in us transformed hearts that express His love to others around us (Matthew 22:39). Notice the type of love described here is 1 Peter 1:22. This love is a "sincere brotherly" love, and God calls us to love "earnestly" from "a pure heart." Our "pure heart" ...

Day 6

God has been revealing to us this week that where our hope and faith are found indicates the foundation of our life. Today God nails down the point to all believers that all of us have been born again, not by anything that can perish but "through the living and abiding word of God" (1 Peter 1:23). God led Peter to look at His Holy Word throug...

Day 7

Today in 1 Peter 2:1-3, God gives us what affections and attitudes we must die to and what we must walk in every day as Christians. As God led the Apostle Peter to write, we know from 1 Peter 1:25 that God's Word "remains forever. And this word is the good news that was preached to you." Because God gave us His living and abiding Word, we, as...
