Day 4

Scripture to Read: 1 Corinthians 15:5–6

God always provides more than enough evidence to leave no doubt that Jesus is the Christ and that there is no other way to salvation except through surrendering to Christ as Lord and Savior. God had Paul begin to list all of the eyewitnesses to Christ’s resurrection. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:5–6, “and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep.” God had Paul remind the Christians in Corinth that Peter was one of the first eyewitnesses of the risen Christ. Peter was not the first but one of the first. God had Paul mention Peter because Peter was an apostle, but then, God had Paul also include the rest of the disciples along with Peter, as Paul wrote, “then to the twelve.” Eyewitnesses are often seen as some of the most valuable sources of information during criminal investigations and legal proceedings. Their testimony can make or break a case, serving as crucial evidence that helps courts determine the truth. An eyewitness is defined as someone who directly observes an event, crime, or scene and can provide a firsthand account of what they saw, heard, or experienced. God used Paul to help the believers in Corinth understand that those who saw the risen Christ were people they knew and could trust. However, God then had Paul expand the eyewitness list to over five hundred eyewitnesses. Just in case there were some doubters, God provided more than enough evidence.

Day 1

The Christians in Corinth likely faced pushback from people regarding the authenticity of the resurrection of Christ our Lord, for God led Paul to write about this in 1 Corinthians 15. God had Paul begin by stating that it all begins with the Gospel. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:1–2, “Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preac...

Day 2

As God led Paul to write, He led Paul to share the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in 1 Corinthians 15. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:3, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures.” God had Paul remind them that Paul had delivered to them the most important mess...

Day 3

Today, we read in 1 Corinthians 15:4, “and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.” God had Paul tell the Christians in Corinth what He had done in and through Christ our Lord. A great place to understand how Paul shared is found in Acts 13. We read in Acts 13:32–39, “And we preach to you the g...

Day 5

God had Paul list a few more eyewitnesses, as we read in 1 Corinthians 15:7–8, “then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.” We know that James was Jesus’ brother. James was regarded as a prominent leader in the church, as God led Luke to record in Acts 15:13–21. We ...

Day 6

God called Paul to be one of His apostles. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:9, “For I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.” Paul never considered himself worthy to be an apostle due to his persecution of the church before his conversion. Most Christians do not consider themselve...

Day 7

God always provides His good news throughout His Word. We read in 1 Corinthians 15:10–11, “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed.” It is only by God...
