Scripture to Read: Romans 7:25
When examining a set of Scriptures over a solid week, knowing that God reveals incredibly Good News within those verses but that the Good News is at the end, it’s hard to wait to share that Good News. But today is the day that we have God’s Good News fully revealed in Romans 7:25; Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. We have so much through our Lord Jesus Christ. We need to thank God daily for all He has done for us, is doing in us, and is accomplishing through us because of Christ in us through His Holy Spirit. Though our minds get distracted at times, as we saw earlier this week, we must renew our minds by memorizing God’s Truth. God’s Truth is the only Word powerful enough to transform our minds and give us all we need to overcome the lies of this world. We know our “flesh” hungers for all this world has to offer, but this world will never be able to satisfy our “flesh.” Our “flesh” will always want more. If our “flesh” could be satisfied by the stuff of this world, we would not be tempted to want more of anything. But we know how our “flesh” is always wanting more. By pursuing our intimacy with our Lord and His Word (Psalms 119:9–11), we can walk in freedom and enjoy the riches of His kindness.
