Scripture to Read: Romans 1:18–20
God speaks so clearly through His Word. What God has to say to us this week, as usual, is incredibly powerful. As we unpack Romans 1:18–32 this week, we will see the abundance of God’s grace but also His judgment. As we begin in Romans 1:18–20, the first thing that jumps out to us is that God does not overlook sin, and His wrath is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness. Of course, we must remember that Christ paid the full price through His blood sacrifice for all ungodliness and unrighteousness for all mankind. But here is the problem: all mankind is born with a sin nature, and, as God’s Word clearly points out, all mankind, in its wickedness, suppresses and chokes out God's truth. Mankind suppresses God's Truth because it's had its minds blinded (2 Corinthians 4:4) by the god of this world (Ephesians 6:12). But mankind has no excuse for not knowing God because what is known about Him, God has made it obvious within all humankind so we can know Him. God made Himself evident, and His Word confirms this because since the beginning of creation, God's visible and invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through all of His creation, the wonderful things that He made. People ask if it's possible to know if God is real. God tells us, "YES." People must open their eyes to all He's already created, and He will reveal Himself abundantly to them.
