Scripture to Read: Nehemiah 6:15
God will always see His will carried out to completion. Nehemiah 6:15 starts with, “So the wall was completed…” The spiritual forces of darkness never stop God’s work. The good news is that God did not have to find someone else to complete the job because Nehemiah stayed on the path that God had led him to walk. Imagine if Nehemiah had allowed fear to grip him; Nehemiah would have stopped leading the work. Then the people of Jerusalem would probably have allowed fear to overcome them, and they would have stopped working. God would then have had to raise up another leader to come and lead the people of Jerusalem to get the work on the wall going again and hopefully get the work done. But thankfully, Nehemiah trusted God, fellowshipped daily with God, rested in God to be his Avenger, and never lost sight of the work God had called him to do. God desires to use us every day in His work. He has created us for good works, as Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” God knows we are going to face tests, trials, persecution, and accusations when we are abiding in Him. He tells us to be ready for the trials (James 1:2-4), not to be surprised at the persecution and suffering (1 Peter 4:12), and to find our strength in Him (Ephesians 6:10).
