Day 7

Scripture to Read: John 17:23–26

Jesus finished His prayer by praying (in John 17:23–26), “I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; 26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” Jesus reaffirms that He is in all believers and that God the Father is in Him and He is in Jesus. Jesus prayed that we would all experience perfect unity so the world would know that Jesus was sent by God the Father and that God the Father loves all of us as much as He loves Jesus. Jesus even asked God the Father for all of His disciples to be able to be with Him in heaven. When every believer is called home, they fully see all the glory God the Father has given to God the Son because of God the Father’s love for Jesus before the world was created. Though the world doesn’t know God, Jesus revealed Him to the world and continues to do so today.

Challenge & Application

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 1

Jesus had just finished speaking to His disciples in John 16, and then He began to pray openly to our Heavenly Father. Jesus knew His time had come to go to the cross. Before this time in Scripture, Jesus knew that His time had not yet arrived (John 2:4; 7:8; 7:30; 8:20). But since the perfect time was ordained by God the Father, Jesus said i...

Jesus said in John 17:6, “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.” Jesus had revealed God the Father to the eleven disciples,...

Day 4

Day 5

Jesus continued His prayer for His eleven disciples. Jesus prayed this in John 17:13–19, “But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I do not...

Day 6

As Jesus prayed for His eleven disciples, He also included everyone through the ages who would surrender to Him as Lord. Jesus prayed in John 17:20–21, “I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21 that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be...
