Day 2

Scripture to Read: Mark 11

God is sovereign in everything, which means He is our supreme Ruler and King. God never lies and never makes mistakes. God’s leadership in all things has been and always will be perfect. As our Lord Jesus instructed two of His disciples to find the colt, we see that God led Mark to mention only the colt, not the donkey. We also see that God led Mark to write that the colt had never been sat upon or ridden. More than likely, God had Matthew mention both the donkey and the colt in Matthew 21 because the colt would have probably still needed its mother (the donkey). There are no mistakes in the Bible. It is beautiful how God led some of His writers to give more or fewer details as needed for His original audience and us today. The point: We can trust God and know that our Lord Jesus rode in on a colt that had never been ridden. In Mark 11, Christ tells the two disciples that if anyone questions them to say, “The Lord has need of it.” We don’t know whether our Lord pre-arranged with someone or if God the Father prepared the hearts of those who would question the disciples to be gracious to the disciples so as not to hinder God the Father’s perfect will. Either way, what was carried out was the perfect plan of our Heavenly Father. The beauty in this is that we can also trust God in every area of our lives, even when it may not make sense.

Day 1

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to this earth in an average body like ours. He lived a perfect life but was still entirely misunderstood by most, especially the religious leaders of His day. Our Lord came for a purpose, as God says through John in 1 John 3:5 & 8, “5 You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin. ...

Day 3

Jesus’ triumphal entry is shared in all four Gospels. Our Lord Jesus Christ deserved and will deserve to be praised and worshipped for all eternity. The Pharisees, who hated our Lord Jesus Christ, did not like that the people were shouting “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest,” a dir...

Day 4

Today, in John 12:1–19, God led John to give us another perspective on Christ’s triumphal entry. Before the day of His triumphal entry, we find Jesus in the house of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus (the same Lazarus Jesus raised from the dead in John 11). In John 12, Mary, Martha and Lazarus' sister, took an expensive perfume bottle and anointed Je...

Day 5

Christ’s triumphal entry reminds us that He is worthy of all our praise and our daily obedience. God has called us to walk in obedience to Him and serve Him in the works He’s prepared for us to do. We know it is His perfect will for us to serve Him and to fulfill what His plans are for us each day. We read in Ephesians 2:10, Philippians 2:13,...

Day 6

Take a moment and reread Luke 19:41–42. Jesus wept over the lostness of all those in Jerusalem because He knew they were utterly missing who He was as their Messiah. We all have people in our lives whom we must pray for who are lost in their sins. The only way we become broken for the lost souls around us is to pray for them. We must pray, as...

Day 7

We know Christ’s triumphal entry led to His mock trial, beating, crucifixion, death, burial, and most importantly, His resurrection. The life that Christ gives us is eternal but it’s not just about the quantity of life; this life is also about the quality of life. Through that quality of life, we can live in such a way that honors our Lord in...
