Scripture to Read: Acts 3:7–10
The gift Peter and John offered this lame man was the gift of walking. It’s hard for us to imagine what went through this lame man’s mind, but since God had already been performing miracles through the apostles (Acts 2:43), more than likely, the lame man had heard some of the reports about these miracles. So, the lame man did not question Peter when Peter took his hand. The lame man, with a leap, stood to his feet and began to walk, jump, and praise God. God not only gave this man perfect feet and legs to walk with, but God gave this man full knowledge of how to walk and leap. This man had never walked, for he had been lame since birth. But instantaneously, he could walk, knew precisely how to walk, and did walk. The people who saw the miracle were all “filled with wonder and amazement” (Acts 3:10). The people's reaction had to be as incredible as the miracle. They know this man had never walked, and in a moment, they see this man’s feet and legs transformed and working perfectly. When we see someone surrender to Christ as Lord, we see a miracle even more incredible than a lame man walking and jumping. We see a person who was blind to God’s Gospel see the fullness of Him and His Truth. We see someone who had been deaf to the Gospel hearing God’s Truth and desiring to walk in God’s Truth. We see a person who would curse God now speaking God’s praises and sharing His Truth. God’s miracles transform lives.
