Scripture to Read: 1 Corinthians 13:6–7
God’s description of His love ought to challenge us to make sure we’re filled to the full with His love so our lives honor and glorify Him. As God continued to reveal His love through Paul, we read in 1 Corinthians 13:6–7, “does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” God’s love never rejoices in any kind of wrongdoing but always rejoices in the truth. God hates lying, and as we know, Jesus called Satan “the father of lies” in John 8:44, as He said, “…Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” God wants us filled with His love so that we are guarded against falling into the trap of lying. God’s love never gives up on us no matter what comes our way. We can rest in God’s love. Therefore, when we’re filled with God’s love, we choose to never give up on others. God’s love also sees the best in each person, for when we’re filled with His love, we live just as Christ lived, loving our neighbor as ourselves. God’s love remains steady and true even when difficult times come our way. God’s love stands firm even in the storms of life. When we’re filled with God’s love, no matter what we face, we’re able to weather the storms of this life. Being filled with God’s love is the key to walking in daily victory over every circumstance we face.
