Scripture to Read: Romans 16:19–20
As we finish the end of Romans 16:19, God had Paul write about making sure the believers were wise about what is good and innocent about what is evil. First, we must know that God reveals all that is good to us. God does this through His wisdom found through our relationship with Christ and His Word (1 Corinthians 1:24, 1 Corinthians 1:30, Colossians 2:2–3, 2 Timothy 3:15, James 3:17). God reveals His perfect will through His Word and then confirms it through His Spirit in us. When God says all believers must be innocent in what is evil, He does not want us to participate in what the world calls good and fun. God’s Word says this in Ephesians 5:3–4, But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; 4 and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. Our lives must reflect Christ and as we do this, God is glorified, and other believers are encouraged to make sure their lives are also being a good model for others. God also had Paul remind all believers that Satan will be crushed under our feet one day. Satan’s reign on this earth is drawing to a close, and we must be diligent in sharing the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ so others may come to know Him as we do. The time is now; therefore, we must be diligent in His work.
