Day 3

Scripture to Read: 1 Timothy 1:15

Today we focus on an incredible reminder and promise that we need to walk in daily. We also need to share this with everyone we come across daily as well. God, in His abundant mercy and grace, tells us that what He is about to share is trustworthy. There is not much in this world today that is trustworthy and that is sad. Years ago, it used to be the norm that a person’s word was their bond. It used to be that you could count on people following through on whatever they told you. People used to do their work with a sense of dignity and most people cared about doing the best job possible because their reputation was at stake if they did not do a great job. Again, the sad truth is that there are not many people who even care whether they follow through on their word or not. As Christians, we ought to live to the highest standard, and no one should ever have to question our word or our work ethic. Today, in 1 Timothy 1:15, God says that His Word is trustworthy, and we can all give thanks that we can trust God and His Word completely. The trustworthy statement God gives us is this, “that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” This statement from God, written by Paul, is great news. God also guides Paul to say that he is one of the worst sinners of all as a reminder that without Christ, that statement describes us as well.

Challenge & Application

1. What did God teach you today about Him and His Word being trustworthy? 2. How are you living so that others trust your words and your actions?

Don’t forget to pray using the A.C.T.S. (Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication) method!

Day 4

Day 5

As we read 1 Timothy 1:17, God led Paul to take a moment to praise God for Who He is. The words that God has Paul share are words we ought to proclaim to our God and King daily. God truly is the only One worthy of all honor and glory forever and ever. God Almighty is the only True eternal King, and Christ our Lord is the King of all kings (1 ...

Day 6

God gives us commands throughout His Word so we will choose to walk in obedience to Him. As God led Paul to write to Timothy, God allows Paul to give Timothy a very personal word about “the prophecies previously made concerning” Timothy. This reference to the prophecies about Timothy is not known to us today. What God does give us, about the ...

Day 7

Yesterday’s devotion was a great reminder to us to be prepared for the battlefield we walk into each day as Christians. God continues in 1 Timothy 19b-20 to explain why we must prepare each day for the spiritual battlefield. Through Paul, God lets us know that some believer's lives have been “suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.” Suff...
